Soccer is a game enjoyed by most boys and even girls now and it is not surprising that in every neighbourhood at least a couple of boys make it to professional football. The first two months of the 2016 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) West are complete, and five North Texas Soccer teams lead their respective divisions, while three division leaders are from South Texas Youth Soccer Association and two hail from Oklahoma Soccer Association.
In fact, soccer dads are a critically important step to forging a positive direction, a positive group of role models who will lead us out of the debacle to which fatherhood has fallen and into a new perception of fathers filling a vital role toward the well-being of our children.
The spread of soccer outside of Great Britain, mainly due to the British influence abroad, started slow, but it soon gathered momentum and spread rapidly to all parts of the world and today it is an undeniable truth that the game has die-hard fans all over the globe.
One of the attractions of association football is that a casual game can be played with only minimal equipment – a basic game can be played on almost any open area of reasonable size with just a ball and items to mark the positions of two sets of goalposts.
And without major rules changes there will be no significant increase in scoring, which of course, will prevent soccer from becoming popular in the US. Unless, of course, Major League Soccer wants to play by different rules than FIFA, which seems very unlikely.
